i need to buy gloves/mittens that are the warmest option. Does anyone have suggestions?

Buy the best gloves you can afford and look for Goretex and high wrist gauntlets to keep snow out – brands to look for: The North Face, Spyder, Burton, Marmot, Black Diamond

I’ve had Burton pipe gloves and Spyder pipe gloves. I like the Spyder gloves more than the Burtons. My Spyders are two years old, still warm and stay fairly dry. I spent about $50 for them but can’t tell you if the have a model name other than pipe glove.

I think it’s a good idea. I know a guy who broke one of his wrists each of the first two times he tried snowboarding. People tend to catch themselves with their hands which is why a broken wrist is probably the most common injury in snowboarding. I’d probably still wear them if they weren’t a little annoying having to carry with you and if I hadn’t already lost two pairs. Anyways, wear them until you’ve gotten the hang of it.

Something more on these gloves please!

You’ll definitely want to find a pair of gloves that are very waterproof, cause wet hands suck big time, personally I like wearing mitt’s with glove liner’s for their warmth and ease of getting on and taking off. Try to go for something with gore-tex or similar material. I have Grenade P.S.M mitts and they have been perfect, they also come with liners. Burton gore-tex, Grenade, or Celtek gloves should make anyone happy, just find the right fit and something that flexes really good when you try it on, cause once it gets colder out, some gloves will stiffen up and be very hard to move in.

Goretex mittens. Gortex for waterproofness, mittens are the warmest because your fingers are all together instead of separate.

admin http:// <![CDATA[Best brands for Ski/Snowboard Gloves?]]> http://snowboardinggloves.org/best-snowboarding-gloves/best-brands-for-skisnowboard-gloves-2 2009-10-26T08:01:09Z 2009-10-26T08:01:09Z I’m a first time skier and I have no idea which brands I should go for in terms of ski and snowboard gloves. Anyone know which brands are best as a starting point for me?

I head Kombi, Swany and Salomon were pretty good. I was thinking about getting the Kombi Cyclone II or the Salomon Equipe Race GTX. Anyone know whether these 2 gloves are good or not?
I’m interested in good quality gloves that’s waterproof. Something in the range of $50-$150. I’ve heard cheaper gloves aren’t waterproof and they’ll make your hands freeze when they’re wet.

Over the years, I have noticed that gloves are all for looks. They change the color scheme. I had so many gloves, they all kept my hands warm. Get yourself a pair of gloves that fit snug and have hand warmer pockets and the color is up to you. You will have no problem finding a good deal. Shops are getting rid of last years stuff to make room for this years new stuff. Good luck
